Sometimes as u know life can be so unpredictable.. they happen when u least expected it. I just got home from the hospital.. My grandfather is warded yesterday because out of a sudden, he could not move his lower left leg. We thought that it was because of his blood sugar was too low or something.
They did a brain scan and the doctor came with the results juz now and explained to us. It turned out that my grandfather suffered a minor stroke, that explains his sudden left leg paralysis... They showed his brain scan results, there's a slight 'activity' on his right brain which controls his left part of the body. But now he can move his left leg already, the doctor shows that he has shown great recovery. However, it does not mean that we can take this incidence lightly as his condition is not stable and he may fall down easily. We must make sure that he does not fall because he was given heparin (a substance which 'lightens' the thickness of the blood so that the occurance of a stroke may be reduced), if he falls n bleeds, the time taken for him to stop the bleeding will be prolonged greatly because of this heparin.
I thought I was holding out quite ok, but as I was saying my goodbye to my grandfather juz now.. I felt something heavy in my throat like as if I would cry.. I pray and hope that he would be ok..... =O I will visit him again tomorrow before my lesson start.
Oh, we got our couple phone too yesterday from Hello! Shop in Orchard. We finally decided on Mitsubishi M900 after a loooonnggg time of weighing pros n cons. Our first time also spending this much for a handphone! A hefty $500 a piece! Eekzzzz.... But the plan is really cheap!! Cuz we signed up using our CIS (Corporate Individual Scheme) from TTSH. We signed up for the "iOne Plus" Plan $14 only!!! kekekeke So wu hua! But the contract is 3 years, we can still renew our contract after 12 months or 24 months as usual, so we're both pretty ok with it.
Our choice was narrowed down to either Sony Eriksson S700 or Mitsubishi M900. I am staying away from Nokia cuz all of my previous phones are Nokias n frankly speaking I'm getting pretty sick of Nokias now hehehe... Though dear is really keen on this 6680, the new Nokia 3G phone.. still very ex at the moment and both of us really won't be using much of the 3G services, so getting a 3G phone wud be pretty much a White Elephant, other than the fact that it's cool =P
This Mitsubishi M900 is frankly speaking one of the best featured clamshells around in Singapore. It has 2Mega pix Camera, 15MB internal memory, 32MB external mini SD memory, 64 polyphonic, Video Recording, MP3 playback n ringtone, GPRS, infrared n etc etc hehehe satisfies more or less what dear wans (external memory) n mine (mp3 ringtone) wahahhaha... so there we have, our very first couple phone ^_^ a first 'couple thing'. Our numbers are also very close!! The only difference is our last digit hehehe His is 1 and mine is 4 kekekeke =D We have to send it for software upgrading though, which dear mentioned that it's not free =( N he did warn me though that there's no software bundled with the phone. Oh well, as long that there are pros, there will be cons as well yah? =)
As for the moment, we are pretty satisfied with our babies ^_*

PissEd oFF
I'm sooo pIssed at LS at work. Juzt becuz she don't like a certain thing, she went n critisize like nobody business. I was talking to YR abt last week's Desperate Housewives's episode cuz she, CL and mi simply love to watch the show. Then LS buttz in and said that she caught a lil bit of the first episode of the Desperate Housewives on TV media on bus <-- dunno wHY the heck she calls it TV media when it's supposed to be TV mobile!!
Then she says that the whole show has no meaning, the people who watch it are those who are into sex n stuff... <-- WA LAOOOO!!! Here we are YR n mi sitting beside her and talking abt the show passionately and she went to say THAT? What the hell was she implying?? That YR n mi watch the show regularly juz because we are THAT sort of ppl? How NARROW MINDED can u be huh?? AND if it IS really abt SEX n nothing else, wud Singapore TV actually ALLOW that to be aired at all??!!!?? GOD some ppl can be soooo SHALLOW!!
N she's has this attitude that she knows it all and that she's a class above others juz because most of us are only Diploma Holders and she is a Degree graduate. The funny thing is that she cannot get a science related job with her science degree. Damn I really detest this kind of people. If you don't like something, doesn't mean u have to go n critisize until like that ma... so TACTLESS!! Gosh!! I can't believe such ppl exist!

And another day of lecture...
I'm writing this before my lecture start... feeling kind of sian n taxing attending classes after work... =O can't imagine how dear does it cuz his lessons are very regular like every mon, wed & friday whereas mine can be as little as once a week. eKkzzz i lack motivation =(
Work was OK today. LD was saying that how come ever since I come to BTS (Blood Transfusion Service), the workload increased quite dramatically. wahahhaa... hmmm Is that a good thing or a bad thing? FOr mi, I wud interpret increased workload to an equally increased bonus =P But they were saying that according to yesterday's newspaper, our quarter year growth is not that good or sumthing like that. I wonder... I guess we'll have to wait till June to find out yah?
LD counselled 1 guy this afternoon concerning Autologous Blood Donation. Autologous Blood Donation is actually the act of donating blood for your own personal use for future operation or sumthing like that. So if you dun wan to take another person's blood, you can actually donate your own blood n keep it for your own use. Of course there's an expiry for that too, 1 month i think.
But, the most important thing is that your own blood for your own use must be free of all the blood transmitted diseases such as Hep C virus or "touch wood" HIV. So even if you have Hep C infection, you won't be allowed to do Autologous Blood Donation eventhough it wud be transfused back into you. The reason is that there is a chance that a blood mix up may occur and that blood infected with Hep C virus could be given to another person instead.
So anyway this guy going for Autologous Blood Donation and LD was telling him that there may be a chance that he would be rejected as a candidate for Autologous Blood Donation for several other reasons for e.g. taking antibiotics medication, having Hepatitis, etc. The really shocking thing is that..... He asked LD (in chinese), "But that time 4 years ago, I went to see a prostitute lei. Is it ok?" The thing that is really shocking is that his WIFE was actually sitting behind LD while she was questioning him!! Walao.. i mean no matter how honest n open he may be to his wife, but declaring that in front of a stranger in the presence of his wife is......... so.... not right!! It's rude and shows that he has no respect for his own wife!! I felt very sad to hear this sort of revelation... that no matter how sheltered your life is, the fact that these occurance are happening won't change a single thing at all. Doesn't mean that if you don't know, it won't happen.. u know what I mean? It's so... so... sad... n INFURIATING!!
Geez!! It just angers me when I recalls the story!

Block Lectures start again..
Today's the start of my block lectures, that means I have 3 consequtive days of lecture at one go (usually this happens when the overseas lecturer from Curtin come to teach us) =O sianz.... Then today John (the lecturer) was 30 min late cuz the plane was delayed. He came straight from the airport lugging his lugage n all =P hehehe poor guy..
Today we all thought that he was only going to cover 2 topics cuz it was already 9 plus when he finished teaching us the 2 topics and usually we finish ard 9. So I was happily packing my stuff till.... he say "Let's go over one last topic" My jaw drop =O Geez... my mind was kind of switched off halfway thru topic 2 liao hehehe... Well it shows how dedicated the ang moh lecturers are yah? Most of the Singaporean lecturers juz breeze past the lecturers, like having the mentality of students that is to finish class as soon as possible =P For so called ang moh lecturer, they are dedicated to their work as well as to their students. They wud ensure that their students understand what the hell they are talking abt rather than going on to the next point and get their students even more confused.
hMmm my nose start their ritual bleeding this mornin, it wud stop for a while but when I sneezed hard, it wud start bleeding again. aNd strangely speaking, whenever I see my nose bleed, it's kind of exciting hahahaha~~~ Kinda make me feel like telling my nose to bleeeed moreeeeeeeeeeeeee I think I'm nutz!! *lol* I juz have this fascination with blood =D
I have my holidays work schedule liaooo... I'm working X on 1 Jan 2006 and Night on 2 Jan 2006!! waaaaaaaa coMbo siahhhhhh.... X is actually working from 8.30am to 8.30pm and Night duty is from 8.30pm to 8.30am. Of course if u do night duty, there's an allowance plus 1 day off... yikez!! Looks like my holiday shifts are ending soon =P

sianz man...
yawnnn these days also same like leena, lazy to blog. Days seem to be breezing by and sometimes I dun really keep up with the days...
I didn't get the m1 corporate plan cuz hmm not too attractive, singtel corporate plan better n much cheaper but I'm waiting for better phones to come up so that dear and I can buy the same phone and that will be our couple phone =) Now, it's either I like 1 phone and he don't like it or the other way ard. hmm...
Then I'm at Blood Banking section now.. Very challenging cuz it's very stressful when one patient's life is on the line. Hui Tian is my trainer. And the funny thing is that, I believe that I'm a lot like her *lol* talk abt being stressed by someone like myself yah? She come across as someone who's very capable and reliable. She's fast with her work and may come across as impatient. Which is why I think that I'm a lot like her. I get really impatient with someone who's slow and I really have a high expectation on my colleagues. I get to the point of being frustrated when my colleagues aren't performing to their best or are slackerz... That's what makes my working life at my previous company non-enjoyable and frustrating.
My colleagues now are very good. They have the initiative to help and you don't really have to bug them to do things. That really makes the environment condusive for working and I believe that I will be working here for quite long =)
Now I am able to perform Antibody Screening without any supervision. Hui Tian tested me on my competency before she declares that I am able to do it on my own. hmm.. Tink it took me like 3 - 4 days to achieve that. Last Friday she taught me how to do ABO blood grouping. It may be quite basic in the sense that I have learned it previously, but as to practical sense, I haven't done much practise. Reading and grading the reactions wise I don't think I have any difficulty, but practise will make me more competent as time goes. She haven't let me do ABO yet, maybe next week.
Been playing badminton at ttsh too =) either play with Soon Lee after work or with dear. Supposed to play with dear today but it's something that he ate, caused him to have a bout of diarrhoea. I had one too juz now. We were thinking that it may be the chicken yesterday or the Bread Talk that we ate this mornin. =O Then dear got stomach ache and juz wanna go home =( Dunno why he didn't wan to use my toilet and insisted wan to go home. I was quite upset for a while. Then I guessed that he feels more comfortable with his own toilet at home.. I talked to him on msn and asked him if he's coming by again later n he say yez kekekek yaYYyyyy ^_^
Min sms mi wan to go out for dinner anot, but hmm kind of dun feel like going out on Sunday night so I told her maybe next time... I slept quite a lot today. Dunno why so drowsy that even drinking coffee bo effect liao. Tried on my hard lenses again, at first a bit uncomfortable but now kind of ok liao. Think I have to train wearing them after work so that I get used to wearing them again. Dun wanna waste my marnee... they're like my white elephant lei... 1 pair cost me $250 sia........ *pengz*
I watched Samara with dear last friday for our 1 yr 9 month anniversary. hmm... er... not nice lei... Well I'm not really comparing it with the original but it's really lacking in something. Some parts are okie, but for this kind buy vcd to watch better... save marnee. I didn't really buy it also, I used my free GV tickets to watch =P hehehe Got into a teeeeny weeeeny argument with dear before the show starts cuz I wan to buy popcorn to munch during movies, but dear dun wan as I have to watch my diet. I know he meant good but hm.... watching movies without popcorn is like........ something is missing, u know what I mean? But in the end, dear gave in and he bought popcorn for mi =P kekeke but he was so cruel cuz he was controlling the popcorn box and gimme the tiniest piece of popcorn he can find. =X But after a while, he gave mi the whole box liao =) I wore my new strappy heels from DMK, quite torturous wearing that high a heel (9.5cm) to walk. What to doo... ai mei de jie guo hehehe. Dear say it's because I'm not used to it. True I dun really buy sandals with such high heels.
